Lyrics:

Waisted, like an hour glass
Another sixty seconds pass
Disconsolate in twenty denier
'Ano', 'Amas' has met its end here
A public place for private chaos
She sips a bitter sweet calvados
When every breath needs discipline
He left, and his ghost is moving in

Vanished all the plans she knew
Curtain up can't they hold the cue?
Dramatic art is what she trained for
Experience? Well she just gained more
But not the script with the Streisand sountrack
She traced in Braille across his back
Though this one needs its heroine
He left, and his ghost is moving in

He left, what's right?
Halloween comes in tonight
It's dark by one more spectre
The shadow of the man that wrecked her

Haunted in the dead of night
With day-light bringing no respite
The modern gothic weighs her down
Has Mary Shelley come to town?
She writes some lines from Coleridge
In the charcoal of her last burned bridge
'The life whose fountains are within'
He left and his ghost has just moved in

One Stone, The Avalanche Skaith/Jones

Written before the dissolution of the Soviet bloc, it is about Mikhail Gorbachev trying to reform the Soviet Union but getting crushed in the ensuring political landslide. This is a song of its time.

Lyrics:

The President of nothing, the ground beneath his feet
He's digging with his bare hands, the sedimented,
Suffocated layers of deceit

The President of nowhere, the borders closing in
When even as his dreams come true, they compromise
And minimize the space he dreams them in

Chorus:

One stone, the avalanche and what is swept away?
And who will tell of those who walked and those who crept away?
One stone, the avalanche and what is left exposed?
The ribs of bitter memory that never decomposed

The President of chaos doesn't know which god to trust
But getting by without one isn't easy since the certainties
Of science bit the dust

The President of absence in a discontinued post
Is finding out the hardest way to wrestle with
The unforgiving almost living ghost

Chorus:

What finds life when the ice thaws?
Ideas colder than cold wars

Chorus: to end - One stone, the avalanche

Ché's Ghost Skaith/Jones

Che Guevara - The face on the T-shirt.
His principled stand against capitalism permeated his life and shaped everything he did. With his contagious idealism, limitless passion, and refusal to capitulate in the face of adversity, he blazed an extraordinary, revolutionary path through the second half of the twentieth century in Latin America and Africa.

Lyrics:

Chorus:
I Saw Ché's ghost
Up on the Sierre Madre
I was wondering what hurts him most
I was wondering what hits him harder

Is it Samora's plane
Off course for Maputo?
The engines choking in the rain
While from Predoria
The ring of the champagne glass

Chorus:

Is it a fetid flame
That burned in Santiago?
It had a human name
Rodrigo Rojas, but
Carmen, Salvemos!

Chorus:

Ché's ghost, Risen in La Paz
He walks the border with Brazil
Ché's ghost, everything he has,
You know, he gives it still

Chorus:

It's maybe you and me
All the things that we let go
The fight for liberty
To reach for status
And sweet security

I saw Ché's ghost
Up on the Sierra Madre …

She's A Rebel Skaith/Jones

Outside a building as ugly as hunger,
An ancient woman kissed the Fifties goodbye,
With more than half of her life left to cling to,
She hung on and she clung on,
But she never knew why.

Shorn of a lover but left with a daughter,
Who gave birth to Marianne and then said goodbye,
In days made of years filled with months she remembered,
As always November and never July.

(Chorus)

Too many secrets that she couldn't confide,
There's just erosion with no eros inside,
Oh, Marianne,
She's a Rebel,
She's a rebel with a cause too many...(cares)
Oh, Marianne,
She has a harbour but soon there won't be anywhere.

Take her to school or take her to China,
It makes no difference when sense says goodbye,
But you drew her a map and you gave her a compass,
You dug her a well and it never ran dry.

Chorus..

For all the woe there is in a woman,
There's still not enough
To slow a single second down.

Chorus..

I think is a brilliant song. The idea came from an experience in Germany - basically how hard some people work to ease the path of people who are disadvantaged in some way, especially parents of children with special needs, how vulnerable children are in general. Mike Jones
